Meet your Coach
Phil's Story
When you survive a major incidents, you begin to think about your life, your purpose and the second chance you have. This sparked a passion to help others in similar situations. Dealing with all the emotions that come with a traumatic experiences and the doorways we take through our life.
My journey to life coaching begins with personal experiences of anxiety and trauma, which began at age 8 when told that I was adopted. Then at the age of 16, just after the death of my adopted father, I was kicked out of home. Earning $72.oo per week meant living out of my car and feeling totally abandoned and betrayed. I learnt how to be a loner and to survive no matter what came my way. I struggled with maintaining accommodation and completing my apprenticeship due commitment issues.
In 1985, I met the love of my life and married a wonderful woman, but I still struggled with being a loner and the fear abandonment. Six years into our marriage, we suffered the most devastating life event that I believe, anyone could encounter, being the death of your child. Once again, my life was turned upside down. Grief, loss, abandonment, sadness and anger were my constant companions.
In April 2013, I had an aviation accident. I was amazed at how calm and collected I was during my life and death situation and then the trauma that followed. Due to the amount of damage that I sustained, I was told, that my foot would be amputated. My old companions were back. Fortunately, the universe sent two amazing specialist who saved my foot.
Five years later, I still did not have any answers to my questions. This is when I discovered life coaching and started the journey. I completed the first life coaching course provided by an incredible trainer. But this raised more interest in becoming a coach. I had my major break-through and life transformation while training with my coach overcoming anxiety, grief, abandonment, sadness and anger. I have not looked back since becoming a Certified and then Master Life Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and DreamBuilder Coach.
